      Surfcaster's 2016 Reboot!   09/21/2016

Howdy, folks. I know this is way overdue, and the damage is probably already done, but after weeks of working with the database I've finally wiped out all of the spam posts and topics. This was no easy task, considering there were three-quarters of a million bogus posts and nearly three hundred thousand bogus topics. Once a hacker/spammer network finds a vulnerability, they send out automated programs that basically destroy a database like this. Over the past couple weeks I've migrated all of the good data into a more current, secure platform with the hopes that we can somehow rebuild. New member registration is tightened way up, and a third-party spam monitoring service is in place. I've also invested in an awesome new gallery extension,  allowing members to create, manage, and share image galleries. Please give it a try, and let me know if there are any issues. I'm still testing and working out the bugs. Surfcaster's forums were once an amazing resource for everyone to enjoy, and we're hoping it can once again build back up. The main site (non-forums) is pretty banged up, but once the forums are complete my next task is to re-invent that as well. Spread the word. Hope to see a lot of you back! Cheers, Andrew

  1. Yes I was in a red Hobie. My fishing partner was also in a red yak. You dont see the flats that empty that often.Might have been 3 boats that I saw.4 guys were out in yaks.Only 2 legal fish from the 4 yaks. That's very slow fishing for that place.
  2. I was there this morning also.1 am to 5am. Pretty slow nite for us.My partner had a nice fish at 43"by the west dike at Woodbridge but that was it. Only a couple smalls for me.
  3. Nice!! I was there that nite with the yak.Good nite for me with 8 fish total with 6 from 40 to44".The pic is the 44"

  6. Mostly frequented by third world fisherman.Be careful if the seas are still up.A guy got lost there last fall.Parking restrictions are no longer in effect drive as far as you can and you'll see the lot.Be careful! Lefty
  7. The only thing that can get me to fish a spot time after time is big fish.I'm constantly changing spots to find big fish.If I'm in a spot that I have confidence in that big fish are present and am into small fish I'll fish deeper and on the edges of the school trying to find the bigger fish.I always fish deep during blitz's cause I believe the bigger fish hang lower.I've caught some nice fish using this method when others were wackin the little ones. For me if I get one fish and it's legal and the guy I'm with catches 20 micros I win. In fishin Size matters!Lefty
