      Surfcaster's 2016 Reboot!   09/21/2016

Howdy, folks. I know this is way overdue, and the damage is probably already done, but after weeks of working with the database I've finally wiped out all of the spam posts and topics. This was no easy task, considering there were three-quarters of a million bogus posts and nearly three hundred thousand bogus topics. Once a hacker/spammer network finds a vulnerability, they send out automated programs that basically destroy a database like this. Over the past couple weeks I've migrated all of the good data into a more current, secure platform with the hopes that we can somehow rebuild. New member registration is tightened way up, and a third-party spam monitoring service is in place. I've also invested in an awesome new gallery extension,  allowing members to create, manage, and share image galleries. Please give it a try, and let me know if there are any issues. I'm still testing and working out the bugs. Surfcaster's forums were once an amazing resource for everyone to enjoy, and we're hoping it can once again build back up. The main site (non-forums) is pretty banged up, but once the forums are complete my next task is to re-invent that as well. Spread the word. Hope to see a lot of you back! Cheers, Andrew

  1. The water should get warm real fast with the lack of snow this year & no spring melt off.
  2. Still trout fishing to. I'll try salt water in a few more weeks to avoid any shut outs.
  3. I like your website it is very interesting!
  4. The best time to go is whenever you can, but other than that I like 3 days either side of the new moon for big fish. The new moon seems to bring the big fish in because of the big tide changes. I like to fish the jetty & some don't but it gives you good chances @ big fish but you have to be careful.
  5. The 1st 40 plus inch fish I got last year was on May 27th & it was raining. I got the fish on an olive Gibs (top water).
  6. I didn't know you were going to fish this year?
  7. I'm ready for trout season to start & the striper season is right behind it. This could be an early season.
  8. So I registered for my federal lic & it was free. Next year for NH salt water lic is $15. Does that mean I will have to get out of state lic for MA too! Lame! Sucks for NH to because they have like 50 ft of coast to fish & most of it sucks.
  9. I read yesterday that in NH you have to register this year to fish in tidal areas? Need to read more into it. If you purchase a salt water license in NH will it be good for only NH or will I have to get one for every state that I salt water fish?
  10. Seems like it always says that.
  11. Also noticed every post I make is post # 486.
  12. Tried around halibut point & Rockport area with no luck. I'm done I'll see you guys next season.
  13. Tried PI beach & Hampton. Nothing but I did see birds out far again. Going again today.
  14. While you worry your life away I'll be living & enjoying mine.
  15. Too cold this morning. Probably take my last trip Tues or Wed morning when it warms up a little.
