      Surfcaster's 2016 Reboot!   09/21/2016

Howdy, folks. I know this is way overdue, and the damage is probably already done, but after weeks of working with the database I've finally wiped out all of the spam posts and topics. This was no easy task, considering there were three-quarters of a million bogus posts and nearly three hundred thousand bogus topics. Once a hacker/spammer network finds a vulnerability, they send out automated programs that basically destroy a database like this. Over the past couple weeks I've migrated all of the good data into a more current, secure platform with the hopes that we can somehow rebuild. New member registration is tightened way up, and a third-party spam monitoring service is in place. I've also invested in an awesome new gallery extension,  allowing members to create, manage, and share image galleries. Please give it a try, and let me know if there are any issues. I'm still testing and working out the bugs. Surfcaster's forums were once an amazing resource for everyone to enjoy, and we're hoping it can once again build back up. The main site (non-forums) is pretty banged up, but once the forums are complete my next task is to re-invent that as well. Spread the word. Hope to see a lot of you back! Cheers, Andrew

  1. Same here about the site. Thanks for the reply, come september I will try this, it sounds great to "sip" on a cold night to get the aces out of the old bones.
  2. Alternative to marriage: Every ten years find a woman you hate and buy her a house. Its cheaper.
  3. My plates are also " Live Free or Die" and i will be the first to say in NH we taxed till death comes. Now they want to have a "View Tax" in NH. Our Tax's may seem low on some stuff compared to MA but when you add it all up, we are about the same. MA has a Sales Tax, NH does not. If you compare Real Estate tax between MA and NH we pay about 2/3 more for Real estate Tax's than MA. Kind of makes up for "No Sales Tax". We may want to Live free or Die but the state would rather us Die so they can collect on the "Death Tax". "Estate tax" Cemetary Plot Tax" and did I forget about the Town tax for a death certificate.
  4. Bill Did you make the rum or buy it? It sounds good, I would like to know how to make it.
  5. Find a woman that likes to fish....
  6. Meetings to discuss proposed legislation for a recreational saltwater fishing license. • For party and charter boat owners: 7 p.m., Wednesday, Urban Forestry Center, 45 Elwyn Road, Portsmouth. • For saltwater anglers: 7 p.m., Jan. 24, Fish and Game Region 3 Office, 225 Main St., Durham. let's see... fishing licence : $30 , full tank of gas for the Yukon : $70 , Plus the proposed 10 cent gas tax : $3 , Nauset permit : $160 , worms, eels beer and snacks $45. Catching a 40# striper priceless. Amount of Fisherman that showed 4
  7. SandSpike the fish are getting ready for the fall migration, they are eating heavy, fish the beach fronts now till they leave. if you dont use eels, use something that resembles the bait fish that are around now. If you are going to "sling tins" I use a heavy kastmaster to locate the fish. Then either keep on a kastmaster and get below the schoolies, or if you prefer plugs, any top plug, dark in color will produce now. Just fish the plug right and you will be all set. The best top plug i use now is a cut off wooden broom handle 7 to 8" long with two sets of treble hooks. Or, same set up with one treble on the back and paint it black. Its not rocket science, its catching fish, and large fish. Think like a large fish and throw them large bait fish..... Some of you folks are trying to get way to technical. Use the KISS Theory. You want bigger fish ......... Fish at night. Fish the white water at dark.
  8. I think they are in the right placed but using the wrong Techniques and bait for this time of year. get below the schoolies if you want bigger fish, and stay off the bottom if you dont want skates. You folks that are consistantly cathing skates...... use a balloon or float to keep your bait off the bottom.
  9. Happy Birthday Bob.....
  10. Sunday am 1 Keeper, Lot # ? Bait eels
  11. Go For It , Mistress........
  12. Zi Wench ???? You must of forgot about.............

  14. This time of year, start using eels.
