      Surfcaster's 2016 Reboot!   09/21/2016

Howdy, folks. I know this is way overdue, and the damage is probably already done, but after weeks of working with the database I've finally wiped out all of the spam posts and topics. This was no easy task, considering there were three-quarters of a million bogus posts and nearly three hundred thousand bogus topics. Once a hacker/spammer network finds a vulnerability, they send out automated programs that basically destroy a database like this. Over the past couple weeks I've migrated all of the good data into a more current, secure platform with the hopes that we can somehow rebuild. New member registration is tightened way up, and a third-party spam monitoring service is in place. I've also invested in an awesome new gallery extension,  allowing members to create, manage, and share image galleries. Please give it a try, and let me know if there are any issues. I'm still testing and working out the bugs. Surfcaster's forums were once an amazing resource for everyone to enjoy, and we're hoping it can once again build back up. The main site (non-forums) is pretty banged up, but once the forums are complete my next task is to re-invent that as well. Spread the word. Hope to see a lot of you back! Cheers, Andrew

  1. Great as always salty. Glad to see someone posting here
  2. It would be great to see the site busy like it used to be, but it does not seem like there is any traffic at all. Maybe a general email to all live accounts might stir up some activity.
  3. figured it would be better off in this forum. in box.. with c clamp and pedistal base.. 80 obo.. will swap for other fly tying or nor-vise accessories..
  4. any deals on materials? i know the sportsmen shows sometimes have tanned hides.. and furs etc... although i have seen some good prices on ebay lately.. i have a deer hide sitting in my freezer but no room or time to tan it out.. not sure what i am going to do with that at the moment..
  5. were there any deals to be had? i could not make the show and i was just wondering.
  6. great looking stuff salty! how do they cast?
  7. \ i can see why no one is using this site.. nothing works. you can't post a new topic in the classified section? is there still a webmistress or webmaster here? i don't think i am going to waste my effort here..
  8. no one seems to come in ever! what a shame.. it was a great site until all the bickering and other garbage began..
  9. happens to me also bill, hows the fishing down there, i was in port charlotte last week and fishing was slow on the canals.. never got to the harbor.. next year i am there for a full week +.. so i hope to do more..
  10. those would have been great in the harbor last fall. the peanuts were thick. i've got a 9 & 10wt.
  11. where are you doing the class? i've never tried crease flies
  12. i was bequethed a nice kegerator.. however its in dire need of a cleaning.. and i need to find assorted parts/fittings.. anyone have a dual guage co2 regulator for sale or swap... other fittings (keg coupler and faucets might help too..) also any advice on where i could find parts locally.. hoping to have up and running intime for spring.. or perhaps march madness.. any ideas?
  13. did you get rid of either.. i have plugs i can exchange.. you can ask strike king for verification.. he got a bunch of plugs from me last year..
  14. i have an older one but i'll never part with it..
