      Surfcaster's 2016 Reboot!   09/21/2016

Howdy, folks. I know this is way overdue, and the damage is probably already done, but after weeks of working with the database I've finally wiped out all of the spam posts and topics. This was no easy task, considering there were three-quarters of a million bogus posts and nearly three hundred thousand bogus topics. Once a hacker/spammer network finds a vulnerability, they send out automated programs that basically destroy a database like this. Over the past couple weeks I've migrated all of the good data into a more current, secure platform with the hopes that we can somehow rebuild. New member registration is tightened way up, and a third-party spam monitoring service is in place. I've also invested in an awesome new gallery extension,  allowing members to create, manage, and share image galleries. Please give it a try, and let me know if there are any issues. I'm still testing and working out the bugs. Surfcaster's forums were once an amazing resource for everyone to enjoy, and we're hoping it can once again build back up. The main site (non-forums) is pretty banged up, but once the forums are complete my next task is to re-invent that as well. Spread the word. Hope to see a lot of you back! Cheers, Andrew

I hope your feeling ok Scoobe... the fishing is pretty good right now.

We got to Q about 2:15am and fished till 4:30am this morning. Only 2 other guys out there, and it was warm and eerily wind-free. We each caught 2 fish 37-39" all around 20lbs. Lots of big hits, and the word around is that the fish are everywhere. Let me know if everyone still plans on meeting @ Q and what time. We'll check out the scene there, and based on the crowd I have a couple other spots in mind.

Don't worry about the rocks, just bring your headlamps and someone can help land the fish... I'll undercut spence and offer landing service at a flat rate of $5/fish B)

Hope you make it.

Directions....

From 95N, take Rt. 4S after TF Green airport. RT4 will become RT1S after Narragansett, follow RT1S into Charlestown. Take left exit for W. Beach Rd toward Quonochontaug and follow until it becomes dirt. Shortly after that there will be parking on the left and you will see the breachway in front of you. This is the spot where we had said we'd meet. If you guys get there at 10pm, my friend may not be out from work yet, but I'll get the gf to drive me over to meet ya down there.

Scoobe if you get lost or change plans call the # I pm'd you... I'm going out for a while.

I think I am up for it tonight. Dave, you gonna be at my house before 8? Give me a call if there are problems.

Spence, when you drive down West Shore road you will eventually come to a stop sign at a T intersection. Take a right there. If you go left you'll hit a dead end anyway. Park at the first available spot you see. There is parking all along that road.

That's good only 2 other guys out there. Man I hope it isn't crowded tonight... there are alteast 5 of our "group" alone!
