Why is it I have to log in every time I use this web site ? Sometimes, even twice in the same day even though I have checked the remember me button. It's getting to be a pain in the you know what and discouraging me from using the site more often.

No. I am not. I have had to log in here three times today. I have been on RT and on FFSW and have not had to log into those sites.

Well, I've come to this site four times today and had to log in each time just to see if I had a PM from one of the administrators and no reply. Guess no one is tending the store or cares if I can use the site conveniently so, I guess I'll just fade away into the sunny southern sunset. Bye all................

I sent a PM about this to two Moderators on 2/11 and to Zebrina yesterday.

Hi Bill
Sorry you are having trouble with this. It sounds to me like a setting in your browser.
One thing you can look at is:

Click "Tools" in your browser menu bar. In the drop down menu click "Internet Options".
Then open the "Advanced" Tab.

You will see a window with a lot of check boxes, scroll down to the Security section

and see if the box next to "empty temporary internet file folder when browser is closed" is checked if it is UNCHECK IT!

Click "Apply" then "OK"

Let me know if it worked or not!

Surf Rat,

OK, You were right, that was checked. I undhecked it and I'm back and just logged in to reply to you.

I'll have to wait till I come on line tomorrow to see if it worked.

I'll let you know

Still does not work, Surf Rat. I had to log in just now to replay to you.

I would think if that were the case, I woud have been unable to post on any website I'm registered with and that's
not the case. I go almost daily to Reel-Time and Flyfishsaltwaters and to a couple Florida sites and never have to
log in unless I stay away for quite some time.

Sorry Bill
It was worth a try. I'll keep my head to the grindstone and see if I can figure it out.

Hey Bill

Seeing that you needed to uncheck that box maybe other browsing setting inadvertently got changed. The settings below are for your privacy settings. Don't be afraid to change any browser setting we can always get it back to what is supposed to be. But something somehow got changed and for some reason does not affect your logging on to your other forums

Maybe you could follow these steps to make sure cookies are enabled in the Privacy Setting of your browser.

I have IE 7 and these are the settings I have and I have no problems logging on.

If you have IE 7 - Try these Steps

If you have IE 6 - Try This

To find which IE version you have click "Help" on your menu bar, from the drop down menu click "About Internet Explorer".

Another thing to try.
Sorry Bill but this is the only way to troubleshoot from afar.
It would take no time at all if I was sitting at your computer.

If all is still not well you might have blocked the cookies for just the surfcaster site in fact it does sound like that since you can go to the others without a log in problem.
This page will show you how to check if it is blocked and how to unblock it.

This was the help page for a site called justis.com

The section you want is about 2/3rds of the way down the page called "Unblocking cookies in Internet Explorer"

Just look for surfcaster.com and see if it says "Always Block".

If it does then I would bet that's been the problem.

Good Luck
Let me know if you have any!

Hey, Crash,

Fishing has been good. It slowed between December and mid-February except for the Pompano bight but it has picked up nicely now. Big Reds and Trout and Snook are making their way from the estuary into the surf and the Jacks and Mackerel are working their way up the coast.

I saved the stuff Surf Rat sent me and I'll plug it in and hopefully cure that problem first chance I get.

Regards,

Bill

i know this is an old thread and I am not one to start trouble but it seems like Bill quickly went from "I dislike having to log in every time" to "I'm taking my ball and leaving". Sounded like a threat to leave the site... I say goodbye to those types of people. Nobody likes em' as all they do is drag people down. Kudos to surfrat and others for trying to help. I personally have to log in every time and it takes all of 2 seconds. Sorry, but its been a bad monday.
