    Excerpt from a fisherman's report:

"Good news comes in all forms and I am happy to report that all colors of the Squid-Zee lures (black, amber, yellow,& pink) have worked very great over the last few weeks since its introduction. The black Squid-Zee has become my personal favorite for fishing at night, complemented by a dark purple tail consisting of a half a dozen saddle hackle feathers and a couple of strands of pink holographic film."

My favorite way of fishing this lure has become a night venture where I take a black colored Squid-zee that I decked out with an extra heavy 5/0 mustad single hook complete with a half dozen dark purple saddle hackle feathers and a few strands of purple holographics tied on it. This lure then is cast from shore on my 9 foot rod spooled with 30lb. braid and slowly fished or I should say jigged on the bottom just like a bucktail jig. The results are dramatic as fish usually slam the lure on the rise of the lure off the bottom. The lure is at home around rock bottom as well as sand. Because it is run with a single hook and feathers it is very forgiving when fished with some weed in the water. The lure was made to be run in current or heavy surf and just needs to be retrieved slowly for best results. I have set most of my lures up with 5/0 or 6/0 single hooks tied with saddle hackle ranging from white to pale blue to green to black and all of them have worked for me both day and night. There rubber skirts that can be used as tail hook dressing as well as bucktail and of course a hook dressed with a strip of pork rind is a great option.
