How to Fish the Squid-zee: It can be cast and retrieved similar to a pencil popper or slow retrieved just under the waters surface like a needlefish or a modified walk the dog action.

What: The new Squid-zee lure is one of the most affordable and versatile lures on the market today. It can be trolled for bass, blues, and even tuna. It may be jigged in shallow water for cod or used as a teaser on a heavier cod jigging setup.

How Big: It measures out to a little over five inches long without a hook, and with the 7/0 hook it comes with is just over seven inches in length. It measures just a whisker under ¾ of an inch in diameter. As packaged, the Squid-zee with its 3/8ths inch eyes and 7/0 single hook weighs in at 2.25 oz. and can be thrown very long distances.

How Far: When we first started our casting trials for distance we targeted out a boat on its mooring which measured out according to our range finder at 430 feet. Using a 9 foot rod with 30 lb. braid we consistently had to stop the cast as we were afraid we would hit the boat. The same results were obtained with an eleven and a half foot rod and 17 lb. test mono.

So you can see that a hundred yard cast is very possible if you are equipped correctly.

The Squid-zee comes in Pink or Flesh Tone, Yellow, Black, and Pearl White.

Try one you won’t be disappointed!!!
